Turkey has an extensive social support system. More than fifty items of regular social assistances are being provided to more than 4 million households each year by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies in Turkey.
With the implementation arrangement made by the mentioned ministry, it is planned to provide 15 billion Turkish Liras of support to families with low income, which was heralded by our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, within the scope of the “Family Support Program”, and it has been announced that the ministry that the application is possbile for employees and retirees as well.
Employees and retirees will also be able to apply to the Turkey Family Support Program, a social assistance application implemented as a result of being a strong social state within the scope of the latest regulation made by the Ministry.
The conditions for benefiting from the support are as follows:
• Applicants must meet the general conditions determined by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and the income per person in the household must be less than 1/3 of the NET MINIMUM WAGE wage. This criterion is currently applied as 5500 /3=1833 TL currently.
• Private sector employees, tradesmen, craftsmen and other independent employees, SSK retirees, BAĞKUR retirees, Retirement Fund retirees and widows and orphans of SSK, BAĞKUR and Retirement Fund retirees will also be able to benefit from the ‘Turkey Family Support Program’, provided that they meet the income level in question. With this regulation, people with insured notifications can also apply to the Family Support Program.
Within the scope of the statement made to the public by the Minister of Family and Social Services, Miss Derya Yanık, it was stated that our citizens, who applied in July, would receive support payments, including the month they applied, in the first payment following this approval, if their entitlements are approved by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations.
Within the scope of the 15 billion Turkish Family Support Project, the first payments to the beneficiaries will start on Friday, 29 July.
Applications to the said support program started on 27 June via e-government. Citizens who do not use e-government will be able to apply to the ministry of family and social services, social assistance and solidarity foundations (SYDV) or any institution of the ministry.
Within the scope of the program, monthly support will be given between 450,550 and 600 liras, depending on the income of the households. In this way, support between 5,400 and 7,200 lira per household will be provided annually. Support will be provided regularly for 12 months.
