The Current Social Insurance Premium Rates in Türkiye

As is known,the Law No. 7524 on Amendments to Tax Laws and Certain Laws was being published in the Turkish Official Gazette No. 32620 dated 02.08.2024.
With the Article 28 of the relevant Law, the premium rate for short-term insurance branches paid by the employer was increased to 2.25, and the with Article 30 of the Law, the second paragraph of the temporary Article 95 of Law No. 5510 was repealed. Both regulations has entered into force as of 01.09.2024.
In this context, as of September 2024, the deduction to be made from short-term insurance branches paid by the employer should be based on a rate of 2.25%. In order for the deductions to be applied correctly, the parameters in the payroll programs should be updated.
Within the latest amendment, the document codes affected by the increase in the premium rate are as follows: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, 48, 52, 53, 54, 55.
The amendment applies to those subject to the Article 81, Paragraph 1, subparagraph (c) of the Social Insurance and General Healthcare Insurance Code No. 5510, i.e., to insured persons for whom all insurance branches are applied.
In this context, those insured subject to one of the document codes of 7, 22, 42, 43, 46, 49 and 50 are within the scope of the Article 5 of Law No. 5510.
Therefore, for those subject to subparagraph (d), the short-term insurance branch premium will continue to be deducted at 1%. The premium rates for employees and retired employees subject to all insurance branches are as follows:

Within the scope of THE Article 30 of the law, with the repeal of the second paragraph of the temporary Article 95 of the Code No. 5510, it will not be possible to benefit from the premium incentive numbered 15510 as of 01.09.2024.

It is possible to apply the 15510 discount in the summary and premium service declaration notifications for August. It is important to make updates for the “00000 law type does not exist” notification of employees who benefit from the 15510 discount in payroll programs as of September 2024.
