With the Act No. 7409 published in the Turkish Official Gazette last week, an important problem of lawyers in Turkish working life has been resolved.
In this line, the Regulation on the Attorneyship Internship of Those Working in Public Institutions and Organizations and Employees as Insured is being published in the Turkish Official Gazette dated 22 June 2022 and numbered 31874 (today’s issue) by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey.
Accordingly, public institutions and organizations will enable lawyer trainees to benefit from opportunities such as part-time, rotating, shift, remote or flexible working.
In this regard, those who work in the staff or positions of public institutions and organizations and those who work as insured will have to notify the public institution and organization where they work and the workplace where they work.
Those who work in the staff or positions of public institutions and organizations have the right to do their internship with a lawyer who is registered with the bar association where the internship is made and who has at least five years of experience in the profession or who works in the public sector or has an independent office.
Those who still work in the public sector and continue their internship with unpaid or unpaid leave will be able to do their internship by taking advantage of this new regulation, if they return to their duties.
