İŞKUR Trainees have the Right to General Healthcare Insurance

Vocational training courses; are courses organized by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) in order to help those who do not have a profession acquire a profession and to increase the employability of those who have a profession but want to improve their professional skills.

 

Conditions for Benefiting from Vocational Training Courses

In order to benefit from İŞKUR’s vocational training courses, individuals must meet the following conditions:

  • Being unemployed as registered with İŞKUR,
  • Being over 15 years of age,
  • To have special conditions determined in accordance with the requirements of the profession,
  • Not having completed the course or program organized by İŞKUR in the same profession,,
  • Benefiting from job and career counseling services of İŞKUR,
  • Not to be a retiree/ pensioner,
  • Not being a first or second degree blood relative or spouse of the Contractor (the employer whom will be benefiting the traniee in his/her workplace from the training services),
  • Not being sanctioned for not attending courses.

In addition, a person can benefit from the vocational training course or on-the-job training program at most twice, and the total number of people benefiting from the courses and programs cannot exceed three.

Duration of Vocational Training Courses

Vocational training courses organized by İŞKUR; is organized for at least five and at most eight hours per day and at least thirty and at most forty-five hours, not to exceed six days per week.

The total duration of vocational training courses cannot exceed one hundred and sixty actual days.

Participation in vocational training courses is free of charge. In fact, the trainees are given stipent by the Institution during the course.

 

Social Insurance and General Healthcare Insurance of Trainees

The trainees’ general health insurance premium and the work accident and occupational disease insurance premium are covered by the Turkish Employment Agency during the course.

With the Law No. 6111 of 2011, the trainees who participate in the vocational development, development and change training organized by the Turkish Employment Agency and who are not dependents are included in the scope of general health insurance by paying the general health insurance premiums by the Turkish Employment Agency, and the trainees themselves and their spouses, children, parents, if any. The opportunity to benefit from healthcare services was also provided.
